Fly into Ndutu for a private 4-day Tanzania safari focused on the Great Wildebeest Migration, seasonal calving and exceptional wildlife viewing in the Southern Serengeti, with luxury accommodation subject to availability.
Tap a day to expand it.
Ndutu Plains · South Serengeti
Your Tanzania safari begins with a flight from Arusha towards Ndutu, bringing you closer to one of East Africa’s most remarkable wildlife landscapes. After landing, meet your private safari guide and begin exploring the Ndutu plains, where open grasslands, seasonal lakes and acacia-dotted scenery form part of the wider Southern Serengeti ecosystem. During your first game drive, look out for wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and the predators that follow these herds across the plains. If you travel during the Great Wildebeest Migration’s calving season, generally from late December to March, Ndutu can offer particularly rewarding opportunities to observe the seasonal movement of herds and the behaviour of newborn wildlife. Animal movements vary with rainfall and natural conditions, so individual sightings cannot be guaranteed. As the afternoon unfolds, enjoy the changing light across the plains and the opportunity to photograph Tanzania’s wild landscapes. Later, head to your confirmed safari camp or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, ready for another day of wildlife exploration in Ndutu and the Southern Serengeti. Flight schedules, game-drive timing and accommodation arrangements will be confirmed according to your travel dates and availability.

Ndutu Plains · South Serengeti
Spend a full day exploring Ndutu’s wildlife-rich plains on a private safari in the Southern Serengeti ecosystem. With your experienced safari guide, venture across open grasslands, seasonal lakes and woodland areas in search of the wildlife that makes this region one of Tanzania’s most rewarding safari destinations. Ndutu is particularly renowned during the Great Wildebeest Migration calving season, when large herds of wildebeest gather across the southern plains. Depending on the season and recent rainfall, you may also encounter zebras, gazelles and predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas moving through the ecosystem. Enjoy flexible game drives that follow wildlife activity and give you time to observe animal behaviour, capture photographs and appreciate the landscape at a comfortable pace. A picnic lunch in the bush allows you to spend more of the day exploring rather than returning to camp at midday. As the afternoon draws to a close, continue your wildlife search before returning to camp for dinner and an overnight stay. Every game drive brings different possibilities, with wildlife sightings shaped by natural conditions and seasonal movements.

Ndutu Plains · South Serengeti
Continue your private Ndutu safari with another day exploring the Southern Serengeti’s remarkable wildlife habitats. After breakfast, set out with your safari guide to follow recent wildlife activity across Ndutu’s open plains, seasonal water sources and scattered woodlands. The route can be adapted throughout the day according to animal movements, weather and road conditions. During the Great Wildebeest Migration season, the Ndutu region can provide exceptional opportunities to observe large herds of wildebeest and zebras moving across the grasslands. These seasonal gatherings also attract predators, and you may encounter lions, cheetahs or hyenas as they search for opportunities across the ecosystem. Outside the peak calving period, Ndutu remains an interesting wildlife destination, although animal concentrations and sightings vary. Take time to appreciate the smaller details of the African bush, from grazing antelope to birds and the changing colours of the landscape. Enjoy a picnic lunch during your game-drive excursion, then continue exploring in the afternoon before returning to your camp for dinner and overnight accommodation. With a private safari, the day can be shaped around wildlife activity and your interests, while all sightings remain dependent on natural conditions.

Ndutu Plains
Enjoy your final morning in Ndutu with an early game drive across the Southern Serengeti plains. Accompanied by your private safari guide, look for wildlife activity in the cooler hours of the day, when the landscape offers one last opportunity to observe Tanzania’s remarkable animals in their natural habitat. Depending on the season and recent sightings, you may encounter wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants or predators moving through the plains. Your guide will adapt the route to local conditions and the time available before departure. After the morning wildlife experience, return to camp for breakfast if time and your flight schedule permit, then transfer to the designated airstrip for your scheduled flight to Arusha. Enjoy a final aerial view of Tanzania’s landscapes as your Ndutu safari comes to an end. Flight times, breakfast arrangements and transfer details depend on the confirmed air schedule. If you have an onward international flight, allow sufficient connection time and confirm the arrangements with your safari operator in advance.

Ndutu is particularly popular from late December to March, when wildebeest often gather in the Southern Serengeti ecosystem for the calving season. The exact timing and location of the herds depend on rainfall and natural conditions. Wildlife viewing is possible at other times of the year, but the migration experience varies by season.
This is designed as a fly-in safari between Arusha and the Ndutu area. Whether return domestic flights are included in your package price depends on the confirmed quotation. Please check your itinerary and booking confirmation for the flight arrangements and inclusions.
Ndutu and the Southern Serengeti are known for wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas. During the calving season, large herds may gather across the plains. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed and depend on the season, rainfall and animal movements.
The itinerary is planned around luxury tented accommodation in the Ndutu area. The specific camp, availability and final booking status must be confirmed for your travel dates before your safari is finalised.
Pack neutral-coloured, comfortable clothing, a warm layer for early-morning game drives, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, binoculars and a camera. Because this is a fly-in safari, check the airline's baggage allowance and luggage restrictions before departure.

You can obtain this visa either online or on arrival. Typically, it takes 3-5 days to get your visa approved online. However, if your trip starts in less than a week, we recommend opting for the on-arrival visa. To avoid issues with POS machines, bring $50 in cash.
East African Community citizens travel visa-free. Other reciprocal exceptions may apply — always confirm the exact requirement for your passport on the official portal above before booking flights.
