Hawa AVerified Great 3 days safari with friends We were just three friends looking for a quick 3-day escape from the chaos of the city and wow, did Tanzalux deliver. From the start, everything was seamless. Joel made booking super easy and stress-free. Our guide, Lucas, felt less like a guide and more like a friend fun, laid-back, and knew exactly how to make the trip unforgettable. We visited Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro. Honestly, we didn’t expect to be this blown away in just three days. The wildlife, the views, the vibe all beyond what we hoped for.If you’re thinking of a short safari with friends, go with Tanzalux. Trust me, memories will be made. Gee MVerified Amazing local experience in Materuni village I had the best time doing the Materuni day trip with Tanzalux Safaris! From the moment we arrived, the local people welcomed us with songs and big smiles. It was so beautiful and made me feel at home. The waterfall was amazing so fresh and peaceful. After that, we visited the village, and I got to try Chagga traditional food and local banana beer. It was something different but I really enjoyed it. The cooking style was interesting and very tasty. Also, they showed us how they make coffee, and we even danced and sang with them during the coffee making – it was so fun! The energy was high and full of happiness. I didn’t want the day to end.Thank you Joel for this beautiful cultural experience. I will never forget it. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting Tanzania. Dorine MVerified Grateful experience Just got back from a 5 days private safari with Tanzalux Safaris and… wow. Mona KVerified Unforgettable Solo Safari Experience with Tanzalux Safaris As a solo female traveler, I was a bit nervous planning a 3-day private safari to Serengeti and Ngorongoro but from the moment I contacted Tanzalux Safaris, everything just felt right. Joel, my trip planner, was super responsive and professional. He patiently answered all my questions making sure everything was perfectly arranged. On the ground, I was warmly welcomed by omary, who made sure I was comfortable and briefed me on everything. My guide Alex was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also kind, respectful, and genuinely passionate about wildlife. I felt so safe and well taken care of the entire time. The game drives were absolutely breathtaking. I saw the Big Five, witnessed a lion hunt, and even spotted a rhino! The landscapes were surreal. I stayed at beautiful tented camps, which were both cozy and well-maintained the staff were friendly, food was delicious, and the ambiance around the campfire at night made me feel like I was living a dream. This trip exceeded every expectation I had. Inspire02717863333Verified Perfect Safari for Solo Travelers Exceptional Service & Cultural Immersion From the very beginning, Tanzalux Safaris did an amazing job. My trip planner, Joel, was incredibly responsive he answered every question I had promptly and with great professionalism . I was traveling solo, but thanks to my guide Alfred, I never felt alone. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and safe throughout the trip. Alfred shared so much about local cultures, especially the Maasai traditions, and even took me to experience their music and dances firsthand. It was a truly memorable experience. Although I only had two days for my trip, I genuinely wished I could’ve stayed longer because of the outstanding service I received. I’m so grateful to Joel, Alfred, and the entire Tanzalux team. If you’re planning a safari, I can confidently say that Tanzalux is the best choice. Bianca NVerified So much to see in just one day, with the nicest locals! We were picked up by our tour guide Elly and had great conversations with him throughout the day. He was very friendly & caring. My friend had a cold, and Elly even arranged a ginger drink with a friend at the local market to help her feel better. Thanks also to my friend John, who recommended the tour and put us in contact! We started with a hike to the Materuni Waterfall, and the nature was breathtakingly beautiful! We got wet at the waterfall, but it was totally worth it! We also had a furry hiking companion. Afterwards, we visited a coffee farm that has been passed down from generation to generation, where we learned a lot about their traditions in coffee production, sang together, and tasted the coffee. The day was rounded off with a swim in the Quemka springs. And all of this in just one day! I really enjoyed the experience and even just during the drive with Elly, I learned a lot about the culture in Arusha and other areas in the country.I already recommended it to another family, daughter and mother, who also loved the tour. Aminah CVerified Amazing company, people, food, drinks and experience! We had amazing waterfall, coffee and hot springs Tour with victor . He showed us the amazing landscape of Materuni, explained things and a lot of different plants we saw and their use by locals. The waterfall is really impressive. Local lunch was excellent - besides main dishes we really enjoyed tasting the fresh fruits as well as banana beer. Traditional Coffee songs was also fun and really interesting. Swimming in the natural paradies of hot springs was perfect finish. Safari Questions Answered
The ideal time is during the dry season from June to October, when animals congregate around water sources and shorter grass makes wildlife easier to spot. However, Tanzania offers excellent safari experiences year-round. The short rains in November-December are also great for visiting, with brief afternoon showers and fewer crowds.
Yes, most visitors require a visa. US citizens pay $100 for a multiple-entry visa, while other nationalities typically pay $50 for single-entry. You can obtain a visa on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or apply online in advance through the eVisa system—we recommend applying beforehand to avoid airport delays.
Yellow Fever vaccination is required if you’re arriving from a country with ongoing transmission or have transited through such a country’s airport for over 12 hours. Malaria prevention medication is highly recommended for safari regions. Consult your doctor about Hepatitis A & B and Typhoid vaccines at least 6-8 weeks before departure.
Pack lightweight, neutral-colored clothing in layers with long sleeves and pants. Bring sturdy hiking boots, comfortable shoes, a hat, sunglasses, and high SPF sunscreen. Essential items include a camera with extra batteries, binoculars, swimwear, insect repellent, medications, and a light jacket for cool mornings. Most accommodations have laundry services, so pack light.
The official currency is the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS). US Dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas, but use Tanzanian Shillings for local transactions and tips. ATMs are available in major towns like Arusha. Notify your bank of your travel dates to avoid card blocks. Carry a mix of cash and cards for flexibility.
