EXCELLENT Based on 72 reviews Posted on Tripadvisor Jon DVerified Falls Materuni Waterfalls is a super day out from Arusha. The trip was flexible and the guide during the falls was very well informed.Posted on Tripadvisor SQWDelawareVerified Wonderful day trip in the Arusha area We had a day at the end of our safari tours, so we contacted Ally. He is very responsive and flexible in terms of schedules and pick up/drop off. We had a wonderful time visiting the Materuni Fall, the Chemka Hot Spring as well as the coffee making in the Chaga village. The lunch was also very good with all the traditional Tanzanian food, something not readily available in a hotel or resort. Highly recommended! One thing you might want to pay attention is the type of car. Ours is a small van which is not an AWD. It got overheated on the way up the mountain and we had to be transferred to another car. Fortunately, it was done with very little down time.Posted on Tripadvisor Flor OVerified Excelente tour. Recomendable 100 % Tanto suma como zahir hicieron que este día sea inolvidable.estan en cada detalle para que la experiencia sea excelente.Posted on Tripadvisor Lucas NVerified Happy with this trip and our guide prayer This was my first time visiting the park here in Tanzania and I thank God for meeting Tanzalux Safari! It was a safari that made me see animals I never thought I would see like lions, elephants, warthogs, and different kinds of birds. We had a professional guide, Mr. Prayer, who gave us excellent service. The food was very good, buffet style, and we traveled in a convoy of 3 vehicles. Overall, we really enjoyed and had a great time, and I will never leave Tanzalux because of the history and experience they gave us.Posted on Tripadvisor FRANCO GVerified Tarangire did its thing. The safari was very good, I liked many things because I prefer joining trips. I also congratulate Tanza Lux as their safaris are more luxury compared to other companies. The safari was super, I liked everything.Posted on Tripadvisor Tumain HVerified A Very Memorable Safari with Nasri Our tour guide Nasri was very friendly and welcoming from the first day we met him. He knows Tarangire very well and explained many things during the safari. We saw different animals and enjoyed the whole trip. It was really a good experience with him.Posted on Tripadvisor Zaffy AVerified Unforgettable experience It wasn't an easy journey but it was truly interesting and worth it, as it attracted many people . From my side I really enjoyed the beautiful environment , the wildlife ,and the moments of laugher with others even though we didn't know each other at first . I especially enjoyed seeing different animal like lion, giraffe, elephant, and zebras in their natural habitat. The food was also very delicious ,and the trip was peaceful and enjoyable ,with one major challenges along the way. I also learned important ways of stay safe around dangerous animal and understand their behavior , in my opinion this initiative should continue, because without it I wouldn't have had the chance to visit Tarangire or gain this experience . In short I truly enjoyed the trip.thank you very much.🙏Posted on Tripadvisor Hope GVerified Great service with Tanzalux safaris For the first time to go to a game park I traveled with 🤗 Tanzalux safaris to Tarangire I enjoyed it beyond words I hope there will be another trip again so I can join you There is good service from the beginning of the trip to the end of the trip I am really happy I have seen various animals such as elephants, lions, buffalo, wild boar, zebras e.t.c I hope there will be another trip so I can join Tanzalux safaris. Also our guide {Prayer} he was the best☺️ I am really happy I do not regret choosing Tanzalux safaris🥰Posted on Tripadvisor Christina TVerified Many wild animals like lions, giraffes, zebras What an amazing day at Tarangire! 🐘🌿 We were six people and everything was perfect from start to finish. Our guide was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The lunch was so delicious 😋 and the whole vibe during the safari was just beautiful and unforgettable. I will always choose Tanzalux Safari ❤️✨Posted on Tripadvisor Ronnie EVerified The only time i joined new company with new friends Tarangire is the park, i have been there more than 2 times but this time when I joined Tanzalux Safari it was really special. It took us only 2 hours and half to be there but I liked the group we had, people were friendly and we enjoyed together, it was very fun. Our guide prayer was very good, he knows a lot and he explain everything in simple way, also he was very social with everyone and made the trip more enjoyable. Also we had a photographer mr Franco, it was so nice to have him because i got many good pictures of me and also animals, i really liked that part. I would like to come again next time with my family, my dad, mom and my sister.
Safari Questions Answered
The ideal time is during the dry season from June to October, when animals congregate around water sources and shorter grass makes wildlife easier to spot. However, Tanzania offers excellent safari experiences year-round. The short rains in November-December are also great for visiting, with brief afternoon showers and fewer crowds.
Yes, most visitors require a visa. US citizens pay $100 for a multiple-entry visa, while other nationalities typically pay $50 for single-entry. You can obtain a visa on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or apply online in advance through the eVisa system—we recommend applying beforehand to avoid airport delays.
Yellow Fever vaccination is required if you’re arriving from a country with ongoing transmission or have transited through such a country’s airport for over 12 hours. Malaria prevention medication is highly recommended for safari regions. Consult your doctor about Hepatitis A & B and Typhoid vaccines at least 6-8 weeks before departure.
Pack lightweight, neutral-colored clothing in layers with long sleeves and pants. Bring sturdy hiking boots, comfortable shoes, a hat, sunglasses, and high SPF sunscreen. Essential items include a camera with extra batteries, binoculars, swimwear, insect repellent, medications, and a light jacket for cool mornings. Most accommodations have laundry services, so pack light.
The official currency is the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS). US Dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas, but use Tanzanian Shillings for local transactions and tips. ATMs are available in major towns like Arusha. Notify your bank of your travel dates to avoid card blocks. Carry a mix of cash and cards for flexibility.
