Tarangire National Park
After breakfast in Arusha, your private Tanzania safari continues towards Tarangire National Park, one of the highlights of Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit. The journey takes you through the changing landscapes of northern Tanzania before reaching a wilderness famous for its enormous elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, open savannah and the life-giving Tarangire River. Once inside the park, enjoy a private game drive with your experienced safari guide, taking time to explore different habitats and search for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, antelope and a variety of birdlife. Depending on the season and wildlife movements, the drive may also offer opportunities to encounter predators such as lions and other fascinating species. Your guide will choose the best areas to explore based on current conditions, giving you a more flexible and personalised safari experience. As the day progresses, continue through Tarangire’s distinctive landscapes, with opportunities for wildlife photography and scenic stops beneath the park’s iconic baobabs. Later, leave the park and continue to Manyara Secret for a comfortable evening, surrounded by the atmosphere of northern Tanzania’s safari country. Overnight at Manyara Secret/similar
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast at Manyara Secret, continue your private Tanzania safari to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact but remarkably diverse wildlife destination set beneath the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park offers a striking change of scenery from Tarangire, with groundwater forests, open grasslands, acacia woodland and the seasonal Lake Manyara creating a rich mosaic of habitats. Enjoy a private game drive with your experienced safari guide as you explore the park at your own pace. Keep watch for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, baboons, monkeys and a wide variety of birdlife, while the forested areas provide a completely different safari atmosphere from the open savannah of Tarangire. Depending on the season and conditions, the lake and surrounding wetlands can also attract large numbers of waterbirds and other wildlife. Beyond the wildlife, Lake Manyara is about experiencing the contrast of Tanzania’s landscapes in a single day—from lush groundwater forests to open plains and the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment. After your game drive, return to Manyara Secret for a relaxed evening and prepare for the next stage of your journey towards the Serengeti. Overnight at Manyara Secret/similar
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, leave Lake Manyara behind and continue your private Tanzania safari towards the legendary Serengeti National Park. As the landscape changes from the Rift Valley and northern highlands to vast open plains, you begin to understand why the Serengeti is known as one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations and why its name is associated with the idea of endless plains. The journey into Central Serengeti is part of the safari experience itself. With your private 4x4 safari vehicle and experienced guide, you can make wildlife and scenic stops along the way whenever conditions allow. As you enter the Serengeti ecosystem, keep your eyes open for zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, elephants, buffalo and other plains game, with opportunities to encounter predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas depending on wildlife movements and the season. Continue towards the wildlife-rich Seronera area of Central Serengeti, where a combination of open grasslands, rocky kopjes, woodland and riverine habitats creates excellent conditions for wildlife throughout the year. After arriving at Sightseeing Luxury Tented Lodge, settle into your comfortable tented accommodation and enjoy the atmosphere of the Serengeti wilderness. Overnight at Sightseeing Luxury Tented Lodge/similar
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Wake up in the heart of the Serengeti and enjoy a full day dedicated to exploring Central Serengeti. After breakfast, set out with your private safari vehicle and experienced guide for an unhurried game drive through the Seronera area, one of the most rewarding wildlife regions of the park. Central Serengeti is characterised by open grasslands, rocky kopjes, wooded areas and water sources that attract wildlife throughout the year. During the game drive, look for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and antelope, while the area is also known for opportunities to encounter lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas. Your guide will read the landscape and current wildlife activity to help determine where to spend the most valuable time, rather than following a fixed route. This is your opportunity to experience the Serengeti at a more relaxed pace, with time for wildlife photography, scenic viewpoints and quiet moments in the wilderness. Depending on the season, the wider Serengeti ecosystem may also reveal different concentrations and movements of wildlife, making every game drive distinct. After a full day in the park, return to Sightseeing Luxury Tented Lodge for another evening surrounded by the atmosphere of the Serengeti. Overnight at Sightseeing Luxury Tented Lodge/similar
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, leave the Central Serengeti behind and continue your private safari towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey takes you through some of northern Tanzania’s most spectacular landscapes, with opportunities to enjoy wildlife and scenic views along the way as you gradually move from the Serengeti plains towards the highlands of the Great Rift Valley. As you travel towards Ngorongoro, your experienced guide will continue to interpret the changing landscapes, wildlife habitats and local surroundings. Depending on the day’s conditions and wildlife movements, there may be opportunities for additional game viewing before leaving the Serengeti ecosystem. The transition from the wide Serengeti plains to the cooler, elevated Ngorongoro highlands creates a memorable contrast and adds another dimension to your Tanzania safari. Later, arrive at Ang’ata Camp in the Ngorongoro area and settle into your comfortable tented accommodation. With the crater experience ahead, the evening offers a chance to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the conservation area before tomorrow’s final wildlife highlight. Overnight at Ang’ata Camp/similar
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for the final major wildlife experience of your private Tanzania safari. Often described as one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife settings, the crater is a vast natural enclosure surrounded by steep walls, creating a unique environment where a remarkable concentration of wildlife can be found. Enjoy a private crater game drive with your experienced safari guide, exploring the crater floor in search of elephants, lions, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and a variety of other wildlife. The crater’s grasslands, woodland, wetlands and lake environments create a diverse landscape within a relatively compact area, making the experience particularly rewarding for wildlife viewing and photography. As always, sightings depend on the season, weather and natural wildlife movements. After your crater experience, ascend from the Ngorongoro Crater and continue towards Arusha. On arrival, you will be transferred to Gold Crest Hotel, marking the end of your 7-day private Tanzania safari through Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Central Serengeti and Ngorongoro.
