6-Day Northern Circuit Fly-In Safari

Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Serengeti (fly-in)

Overview

6-day journey

The full northern-circuit trio — Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti — with the long drives between them replaced by short flights, so more of your six days go to game drives and less to the road.

  • All three northern-circuit parks in one trip, connected by air
  • A full day and a half in Tarangire before flying on
  • A private Ngorongoro Crater descent
  • Two full days in the Serengeti to close the trip

The itinerary

Tap a day to expand it.

1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

A short road transfer from Arusha into Tarangire — close enough that flying isn't necessary for this leg. Afternoon game drive among Tarangire's famous elephant herds and ancient baobabs.

2

Full Day, Tarangire National Park

A full day exploring Tarangire's swamps and river system, where dry-season wildlife concentrations rival anywhere in Tanzania. Morning and afternoon game drives.

3

Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater

A scenic drive up onto the Ngorongoro highlands (roughly 2.5-3 hours — there is no public airstrip inside the Crater itself). Afternoon at leisure on the crater rim, with sweeping views down into the caldera.

4

Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti (fly-in)

An early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for a morning game drive among the roughly 25,000 large mammals living within its walls, then a transfer to Manyara or a nearby airstrip for a short scheduled flight into the Serengeti, arriving in time for an afternoon game drive.

5

Full Day, Serengeti National Park

A full day of game drives in the Serengeti, timed to the season's wildlife concentrations — migration herds in the north or west, or resident predators around Seronera, depending on when you travel.

6

Serengeti to Arusha

A final morning game drive, then a scheduled flight back to Arusha, closing out the northern circuit without a single long road transfer day.

Included

  • One internal flight, Serengeti area to Arusha (plus road transfers for the Tarangire/Ngorongoro legs, where flying isn't practical)
  • Private 4x4 safari vehicle with pop-up roof throughout
  • Professional English-speaking driver-guide

An experienced local driver-guide who handles navigation, wildlife spotting, and park logistics throughout the trip, and speaks fluent English.

  • Full-board accommodation for all 6 days
  • All park entry and conservation fees

Every park entry permit and conservation fee for the parks on your itinerary is paid in advance — nothing to arrange or pay at the gate.

  • Bottled water during game drives

Bottled drinking water is stocked in the vehicle for every game drive, at no extra cost.

Not included

  • International flights

Flights to and from Tanzania are not included — we can recommend routes and airlines on request.

  • Tanzania visa

Most nationalities need a Tanzania visa, available on arrival or online in advance — the fee is not included in the trip price.

  • Travel insurance

We require all travelers to carry their own travel insurance, including emergency medical evacuation cover — not included in the trip price.
